EPILOGUE

EROS GUIDED THE Aqua Hawk into a smooth landing on the water’s surface and moved the vessel gently into the island’s unusually busy harbour. He frowned as he scanned the dock, noting it was filled with yachts. The Stavros Theodorou Centre for Rehabilitation was into its second year of business now but it still took his breath away every time he returned to see the evidence of his hard work.

Even before he had finished tying off and securing the vessel he heard the sound of a familiar engine descending the hill at speed. His wife was a veritable speed demon.

A soft smile touched his lips as the white Jeep came to a stop and Priya jumped out of the driver’s seat. He moved like lightning down the marina and within minutes she was in his embrace.

‘Never leave us for that long again.’

‘Agreed.’

He breathed in the vanilla scent of her hair, smoothing his hands down the familiar curves and dips of her body. Long moments were lost as he took her mouth in a deep sensual kiss, showing her exactly how much he had missed her, body and soul.

She tried to move away and with a gentle growl he lifted her legs around his waist, pulling her even closer against him.

‘Eros!’ she squeaked, and yet she moved herself even tighter in his arms. ‘There are people setting up for the charity dinner on the terrace. But, God, I missed you. I missed the quiet of this place but it’s not the same without you.’

‘I assumed you’d be kept distracted enough.’ He raised one brow.

They both smiled knowingly. Her old wish for constant distraction had become a joke between them, because Priya had not set foot in the New York office in more than six months. For a very good reason.

‘Where is my other ferocious she-wolf?’

‘Sleeping.’ Priya smiled, that familiar warmth entering her gaze every time she spoke of their five-month-old daughter Amara. ‘The whole family has already arrived, as you can see. Your mother has not let her granddaughter out of her sight and insists on being called Gia-gia now. I think we may have created a monster.’

Eros smiled, glad that he had chosen to invest time into mending his relationship with Arista. Priya had shown him that sometimes love meant looking past mistakes and choosing forgiveness. It had been tough, but he’d believed in his mother’s remorse. They had even scattered Stavros’s ashes together here on the island, laying to rest their grief and ill will.

‘I’m not quite ready to share you yet,’ Eros rasped, running his hands down her sides and pulling her close. Already he could feel himself responding to her. Pregnancy and new parenthood had only seemed to increase the ferocious hunger he felt for his wife. Watching her grow their child and give birth had been the most intense, powerful experience of his life.
